My name is Sabine Akabayov. I was born and raised in Germany before moving to Israel to do my PhD at the Weizmann Institute of Science. After that we lived 8 years in Newton, MA, USA. A few years ago we came back to Israel and live now in Rehovot.
My ancestors are mainly from Hesse, East Prussia, Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. My husband adds mainly Dagestan and Yemen to the mix.
I have taken over as the family historian several years ago and love to help others discover their family roots. In my free time I also love to sew, read and build my own furniture.
I have a PhD in Chemistry, a Certificate in German-English Translation from NYU – SCPS and a Certificate in Genealogical Research from BU.
My native language is German, I speak English and Hebrew,  and read Russian and Latin as well.
